Clark posted a five-under 67 in the final round of the Memorial Tournament to finish the tournament solo third and two strokes back of Ryan Gerard and J.T. Poston.
Analysis:
Clark returned from a one-week break following his victory at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson. He opened the Memorial nicely with a five-under 67 that included three-straight birdies from holes 10 to 12, but he lost momentum Friday with a three-over 75. Clark rebounded with scores of 68-67 over the weekend and was briefly tied at the top of the leaderboard Sunday, but he couldn't sink his birdie putt on the 18th hole to join Gerard and Poston in a playoff. Clark was excellent in his approach game, gaining 8.96 strokes in that category to lead all players at Muirfield. He also ranked T3 in birdies, fourth in both SG: Around-the-Green and GIR, 11th in scrambling and 20th in SG: Putting. Clark has his game in a great spot heading into the U.S. Open Championship in two weeks. He won the U.S. Open in 2023 but finished T56 in 2024 before missing the cut last year.
