Manchester City's Erling Haaland: Brace in World Cup debut

Rotowire

Haaland scored two goals to go with five shots (four on goal) and one chance created in Tuesday's 4-1 win versus Iraq.

Analysis:

Haaland was at his dominant best on his World Cup debut, opening the scoring for Norway after a subdued first half in which they struggled to fashion any clear openings. He was a constant menace through his pressing, winning seven of nine duels and causing havoc for Iraq's center backs and goalkeeper, ultimately forcing the mistake between them that gifted him his second goal. Two missed big chances meant his tally could have been even higher, and he was also behind the fourth goal late on, winning the header that forced an error from the Iraqi defense and ended up in their own net.
