Atlanta released Farmer on Tuesday.
Analysis:The veteran infielder joined Atlanta on a split contract in March and made the Opening Day roster, but he's played in just 12 big-league games this season while spending about six weeks on the IL due to a forearm strain. Farmer was serviceable in his limited opportunities, going 4-for-15 with a double, three RBI and two runs.
