Hull City's Matt Targett: Signs two year deal with Hull

Rotowire ·

Targett has signed a two year contract with Hull City, with a club option for a third year, joining as a free agent after leaving Newcastle United, according to the club.

Analysis:

Targett spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, scoring four goals in 46 matches as the club reached the Championship playoff final, and has made 266 senior appearances over his career, including 164 in the Premier League across spells with Southampton, Fulham, Aston Villa and Newcastle. He was named Villa's Players' Player of the Year in 2020/21 after being the league's only ever present outfield player that season, and now brings that experience to Hull as the club prepares for its return to the Premier League.
