Liverpool's Freddy Woodman: Signs new deal with Liverpool

Rotowire ·

Woodman signed a contract extension with Liverpool, the club announced.

Analysis:

Woodman joined on a free transfer last summer and made four appearances last season, debuting in a Carabao Cup match against Crystal Palace before making his Premier League bow off the bench in a Merseyside derby win over Everton. With Alisson Becker and Giorgi Mamardashvili both sidelined, he started the next two league matches and was named Player of the Match in a win over Palace. The former England U21 international will continue as part of Liverpool's senior goalkeeping group under new coach Andoni Iraola. Woodman is expected to serve as depth once again, ready to step in whenever called upon.
