The Rays activated Scholtens (wrist) from the 15-day injured list Thursday and optioned him to Triple-A Durham.
Analysis:Scholtens is recovered from a right wrist strain that's shelved him since late May, but he will remain at Durham where he had been on a rehab assignment. The righty has logged a 3.82 ERA and 30:11 K:BB over 37.2 innings covering two starts and seven relief outings with the Rays this season.
