Puckett seems to be trending toward a backup role ahead of Saturday's game versus Texas, Matt Zenitz of CBSSports.com reports.
Analysis:Puckett was battling AJ Swann for starting duties during practice throughout the week but apparently lost out in the competition. That said, Swann will likely be on a short leash, and Puckett could be a candidate to enter the contest should Swann falter.
