Marin was sent off for a last-man foul on Porto striker Samu Aghehowa in the 88th minute of Wednesday's Champions League loss at Porto, which also gave away a penalty.
Analysis:Marin was shown a straight red card late in the match after he fouled Samu as the striker broke clear, and Porto converted the resulting penalty. Marin has started all four of Napoli's Champions League league-phase matches, so his suspension would be a blow for coach Massimiliano Allegri. He is expected to serve a one-match ban, which would rule him out of the trip to Manchester City on Nov. 24 and leave him available for the home match against Club Brugge on Dec. 8. The suspension applies only to UEFA competition, so he remains available for Serie A.
