Gregory Polanco's jersey from MLB debut sells for $26,100 at auction
Pittsburgh Pirates prospect Gregory Polanco has just one major-league game under his belt, but the 22-year-old is already a lucrative commodity, as his game-worn jersey from Tuesday's debut sold for $26,100 in an online auction Wednesday.

Proceeds from the auction will be donated to Pirates Charities, a local organization dedicated to supporting programs "aimed at improving the lives of children and adults in the greater Pittsburgh region."
Polanco's jersey generated considerably more revenue than that of teammate Andrew McCutchen, whose jersey from Tuesday night sold for a comparatively meager $3,220. Polanco, incidentally, collected his first big-league hit in a 7-3 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday, finishing 1-for-5 with a strikeout and a run scored.
