Romero set to face Kennedy in middleweight clash at UFC 178

Yoel Romero is set to throw leather with Tim Kennedy in what could be a middleweight title eliminator at UFC 178 in September.

Romero, a silver medalist in freestyle wrestling at the 2000 Olympic games in Australia, has a perfect 4-0 record in the UFC, with his most recent win being a one-sided rag-dolling of Brad Tavares at UFC on Fox 11.

Kennedy, a former Strikeforce standout, has gone 3-0 since making the transition to the UFC, and owns a dominant five-round unanimous decision victory over division stalwart Michael Bisping.

The highly anticipated rematch between light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and challenger Alexander Gustafsson is scheduled to headline UFC 178, with Romero/Kennedy likely featured as the co-main event.
