Lions fan who got 2015 Super Bowl champion tattoo filled with regret
Detroit Lions fan David Morian was so confident his team was going to win Super Bowl XLIX that he had "Lions 2015 Super Bowl Champs" inked on his body before the start of the season.
The Lions were eliminated from the playoffs Sunday, leaving Morian with a permanent reminder that getting a Super Bowl tattoo before a team actually wins the Super Bowl isn't the best idea.
"Disappointment, you know, slow, and then anger and then just kind of in disbelief I guess," Morian told Detroit's Local 4 News when asked to describe his emotions.
Fortunately, the tattoo parlor where Morian had the work done planned ahead.
"We made sure to leave the fonts designed in a way that it could be altered and changed as the years went on, because eventually they are going to win the championship," John Motyka of Elite Tattoo said. "It can easily be changed to 16, and hopefully that's all he has to do, just one alteration and then Dave will be a hero next year."
Morian said he plans to have the tattoo touched up soon.
"I'm going to get 2015 x'ed out, then get an arrow to below it where it will be 2016," he said.
