Usain Bolt to retire after 2017 World Championships in London
It appears as though Usain Bolt won't be retiring in 2016 as initially planned.
The sprinter now plans to retire following the 2017 World Championships in London, England.
"My sponsor has asked me to go on for another year; to 2017 and London," Bolt told Matt Lawton of the Daily Mail. "But I'll be doing one event, the 100. I've already discussed it with my coach. I can concentrate on that, and on retiring on a winning note."
The 28-year-old initially planned to call it quits after the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Some of the Jamaican's career accomplishments include: six Olympic gold medals, eight World Championship gold medals, and world records in both the 100-meter and 200-meter events.
Bolt's next major track meet will be the 2015 World Championships in Beijing in August.
