Gamel (knee) won't play in the Arizona Fall League, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

There were reports that Gamel may play in the fall, but apparently he just hasn't made enough progress from his May ACL surgery to compete. Brewers assistant GM Gord Ash wrote in an e-mail Wednesday regarding Gamel, "His plan is to continue to rehab and look to get at bats in the Dominican later in the season. He is making progress; we just don't want to rush him back to meet the AFL requirements."
