Wrigley Field just isn't the same without fans in the bleachers.
The Chicago Cubs opened up their 2015 season against the St. Louis Cardinals Sunday night, only with roughly 5,000 less fans than usual with construction still ongoing throughout the famous bleacher seats. Instead of cheering fans, onlookers were treated to a view of plywood in those iconic sections.
The Cubs did tarp some of the seats with photos of the late Ernie Banks, who was honored before the game.
Wrigley's right field bleachers are expected to be ready by June of this year, so good news is on the way.
At least fans were treated to the new video board in left field.
