VIDEO: Palestine thrash Malaysia 6-0 in 2018 World Cup qualifying
As the Palestinian Football Association continues to push for the suspension of Israel from FIFA, Palestine earned a massive victory on the pitch Tuesday.
Taking on Malaysia in 2018 World Cup qualifying, Saeb Jendeya's side earned a resounding 6-0 away win that propelled Palestine to the top of Group A, which also includes Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Timor-Leste.
Musab Battat opened the floodgates in the ninth minute, before Sameh Maraaba and Tamer Seyam each notched a brace and Khader Abuhammad added a goal of his own.
At the end of May, the Palestinian delegation called for the suspension of Israel at FIFA's scandal-driven congress in Zurich, Switzerland. The calls stemmed from Israel refusing to expel five teams based in illegal Israeli settlements from its football league.
The five teams are Ma'aleh Adumim, Ariel, Kiryat Arba, Bik'at Hayarden, and Givat Ze'ev.
