Carlos Bacca's mother on ill-tempered Copa America game: 'I would have taken off my high heel and hit Neymar'

Do not mess with Carlos Bacca's mother.

In conversation with Colombian regional paper El Heraldo, Bacca's mother, Eloisa Ahumada, gave a detailed description of how she - and many other women - would have dealt with Neymar following the brawl that ensued in the immediate aftermath of Colombia's 1-0 win versus Brazil at the Copa America.

Neymar and Bacca both received red cards after the final whistle - the former for attempting to headbutt Jeison Murillo, and the latter for retaliating by shoving the mohawk-clad Brazilian with considerable force.

"I felt anger and helplessness; I wanted to be there to push him (Bacca) away so they couldn't hit him because it could have been serious," Ahumada said, as translated by the Guardian. "But if I'd have been in the stadium I would have taken off my high heel and hit Neymar; I know many women in the stadium would have joined me."

While CONMEBOL decided to give Neymar a four-match ban that rules him out for the remainder of the Copa America, Bacca is only suspended for two games - meaning that he could feature again at the competition should Colombia progress to the semifinals.

Regardless, Ahumada was not pleased with her son's behaviour.

"I didn't teach him things like that ... I was really annoyed because I've never seen this attitude of Carlos in the game before and so I sent him a message telling him off because he didn't need to react that way."
