Micronesia give up 114 goals through 3 matches after 46-0 pummeling
Tuesday's result certainly won't inspire young Micronesians to take up soccer after witnessing Vanuatu pulverize their national team 46-0 at the Pacific Games.
With a 24-0 lead at halftime, Vanuatu had no intentions of letting up on the small Pacific Ocean nation and almost doubled their lead before the full-time whistle sounded.
Vanuatu striker Jean Kaltack immediately jumped into the tournament lead for scoring after putting 16 goals past the Micronesian goalkeeper, who had apparently started playing the position three weeks before the match, according to journalist Kevin Darling.
Serious question: Could Messi beat the entire Micronesia team on his own in an 11 v 1 match?

Two of Micronesia's defeats at the tournament surpassed the previous record for goal differential in an international match, which was set by American Samoa when they lost 31-0 to Australia in 2001.
Micronesia suffered what will likely go down as the most devastating series of matches in history, as Tuesday's drubbing was preceded by a 38-0 loss to Fiji and a 30-0 beatdown at the hands of Tahiti to bring their total of allowed goals to 114.
Unfortunately for Vanuatu, the win wasn't enough to send them past the group stage.
