DFS: Friday's Power Forward Value Rankings
Here are theScore's power forward value rankings for Friday, November 6:
Value Rankings
PG | SG | SF | PF | C
| # | Name | Opponent | Risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Kevin Love (CLE) | vs. PHI | Low |
| 2 | Kenneth Faried (DEN) | at GS | Low |
| 3 | Nerlens Noel (PHI) | at CLE | Low |
| 4 | Draymond Green (GS) | vs. DEN | Low |
| 5 | Anthony Davis (NO) | vs. ATL | Low |
Love carries a slightly reduced price tag, boosting his value to the top. The same goes for Faried. They won't be the absolute best, day in and day out, but they will provide consistent upside. They are attractive choices at more inexpensive prices than some of their contemporaries.
When those contemporaries include Davis, it's understandable why they're cheaper. After a mediocre opening game, Davis has rattled off three solid performances. He still seems a bit like a sleeping giant, though, and hasn't crushed his competition like he did all of last season. It's coming.
| # | Name | Opponent | Risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 | Chris Bosh (MIA) | at IND | Low |
| 7 | Kristaps Porzingis (NY) | vs. MIL | Medium |
| 8 | Julius Randle (LAL) | at BKN | Medium |
| 9 | Thaddeus Young (BKN) | vs. LAL | Medium |
| 10 | Paul Millsap (ATL) | at NO | Medium |
| 11 | Jared Sullinger (BOS) | vs. WAS | Medium |
| 12 | Ryan Anderson (NO) | vs. ATL | Medium |
| 13 | Jordan Hill (IND) | vs. MIA | Medium |
| 14 | Tristan Thompson (CLE) | vs. PHI | Medium |
| 15 | Ersan Ilyasova (DET) | at PHO | Medium |
Porzingis and Randle are making names for themselves and are exciting to watch. They both have holes in their game and have injury histories, but as long as they're healthy they will get opportunities and should make the most of them.
Millsap drops a bit because of the matchup paired with his high price. He's not at Davis' level, but he's close. He can probably still be counted on to return decent value, but with safer choices he should be faded. Sullinger is now the starter in Boston, but with David Lee and Amir Johnson hovering, he will still probably lose minutes.
| # | Name | Opponent | Risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| 16 | J.J. Hickson (DEN) | at GS | Medium |
| 17 | Jabari Parker (MIL) | at NY | High |
| 18 | Markieff Morris (PHO) | vs. DET | High |
| 19 | Clint Capela (HOU) | at SAC | High |
| 20 | Montrezl Harrell (HOU) | at SAC | High |
| 21 | Kris Humphries (WAS) | at BOS | High |
| 22 | Luis Scola (TOR) | at ORL | High |
| 23 | Patrick Patterson (TOR) | at ORL | High |
| 24 | Nene Hilario (WAS) | at BOS | High |
| 25 | David Lee (BOS) | vs. WAS | High |
Capela and Harrell are getting playing time while Terrence Jones and Donatas Motiejunas lick their wounds and prepare to return to the lineup. Both are high risk plays that carry decent upside.
Power forward is the Raptors' biggest weakness and neither Scola nor Patterson can be counted on with any regularity. Parker, having just returned, should shoot up the value rankings as he plays more. His risk of injury and limited minutes will reduce his value at first. Morris may not start. If he doesn't, consider Jon Leuer as a replacement.
