DFS: Saturday's Goaltender Value Rankings
Here are theScore's goaltender value rankings for Saturday, November 28:
Top Options
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Pekka Rinne/Carter Hutton (NSH) | vs. BUF | 10 |
Jake Allen (STL) | vs. CLB | 10 |
Martin Jones (SJ) | vs. CGY | 9 |
Jaroslav Halak (NYI) | at TB | 8 |
Ben Bishop (TB) | vs. NYI | 8 |
The Sabres don't score. Pick whichever of the Preds goalies takes the ice and be confident in a strong performance. Allen and Jones, likewise have solid matchups. Halak is a little less of a sure thing, as is opponent Bishop, but neither should be disastrous.
Best of the Rest
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Braden Holtby (WAS) | at TOR | 7 |
Mike Condon/Dustin Tokarski (MTL) | vs. NJ | 7 |
Semyon Varlamov (COL) | vs. WPG | 7 |
Jonathan Quick (LA) | vs. CHI | 7 |
Craig Anderson (OTT) | at ARI | 6 |
Antti Niemi (DAL) | at MIN | 6 |
Michael Hutchinson (WPG) | at COL | 6 |
Scott Darling (CHI) | at LA | 5 |
Jeff Zatkoff (PIT) | vs. EDM | 5 |
Cory Schneider (NJ) | at MTL | 5 |
Holtby will start against Toronto and has a great chance at picking up the win. Quick is lower on the ladder than normal because Chicago shoots the lights out of opposing tenders. Niemi has a lot of wins but his peripheral stats (.907 save percentage & 2.40 goals against) aren't impressive. Dallas could put him up early, though.
Nothing to See Here
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Karri Ramo (CGY) | at SJ | 4 |
Darcy Kuemper (MIN) | vs. DAL | 4 |
Anders Nilsson (EDM) | at PIT | 4 |
James Reimer (TOR) | vs. WAS | 3 |
Linus Ullmark (BUF) | at NSH | 3 |
Sergei Bobrovsky (CLB) | at STL | 3 |
Mike Smith (ARI) | vs. OTT | 3 |
With Calgary still struggling despite playing a little better, traveling to San Jose to finish out a road trip doesn't sound like the best finish. As paltry as Pittsburgh's offense has been, it has been showing signs of life. Nilsson nor Cam Talbot are worth consideration. Reimer has been solid lately, but Alex Ovechkin is in town. Ullmark could be a cheap, contrarian option but he can't reasonably be expected to perform.
