Monday's Small Forward Value Rankings

Here are the small forward value rankings for Monday, March 7:

Top Options

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
LeBron James (CLE) vs. MEM 10
Shabazz Muhammad (MIN) at CHA 9
Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL) at CHI 8

James has the highest price tag at the position but he has still managed to meet or exceed expected fantasy value in all but one of his last 10 games. Memphis is coming off of a disappointing loss to the Suns, so both energy and morale could be in justifiably low supply.

He doesn't have the extra gear that can turn him into an elite fantasy play, but there is no better value in cash game formats than Muhammad right now, who has seen close to a 50 percent bump in fantasy production while averaging 14.2 points and 5.5 rebounds in his last six games.

Best of the Rest

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Harrison Barnes (GS) vs. ORL 7
Chandler Parsons (DAL) vs. LAC 6
Mike Dunleavy (CHI) vs. MIL 6
Mario Hezonja (ORL) at GS 5
Jeff Green (LAC) at DAL 5
Lance Stephenson (MEM) at CLE 5
Kawhi Leonard (SA) at IND 4
Matt Barnes (MEM) at CLE 4
Dante Cunningham (NO) vs. SAC 4

For his career, Leonard has averaged just 14.3 points and 6.4 points against the Pacers, the team which originally held his draft rights. He posted 24 points, six rebounds and five assists against the team earlier this season, but he still has to deal with Paul George guarding him on the wing.

Nothing to See Here

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Paul George (IND) vs. SA 3
Rudy Gay (SAC) at NO 3
Omri Casspi (SAC) at NO 2

The crowd in Indiana will get a small glimpse of what could have been had they not swapped Leonard for George Hill on draft day in 2011. George and Leonard are perhaps the two best pound-for-pound defenders in the game and should cancel each other out in many respects. Leonard gets the slight edge because of greater game-to-game consistency.

Gay has been in a prolonged slump; while his price has dropped off on most DFS sites, he still has to demonstrate that he's able to put up consistent numbers again to regain the trust of DFSers.
