Bargain Plays: Marko Dano Enjoying the Jet-Setting Life
Here are the top sleeper picks for Saturday's 12-game slate.
C Marko Dano, Jets (vs. Avalanche)
Acquired in the trade that sent Andrew Ladd to the Blackhawks, Dano has started to find his footing in Winnipeg, registering a point and three shots in each of his last two games. The Austria native has a second line role that's seemingly assured as a long as Nikolaj Ehlers (eye) remains indefinitely sidelined. He's also received a secondary amount of power play time, though neither of his two points as a Jet have come on the man advantage.
The inconsistent Avalanche are coming off a strong stretch of play at home, but have given up 17 goals over their last four road games, increasing the chances of Dano finding the score sheet for a third straight game.

W Nikita Soshnikov, Maple Leafs (at Senators)
Despite a steadily rising price, Soshnikov can still be considered a bargain, though he won't be for much longer if he keeps up his strong play. Since being recalled from the AHL six games ago, the 22-year-old Russian has two goals, an assist and 21 shots. He's now occupying a spot on the top line and first power play unit, and has averaged five shots per game over his last three contests.
The NHL's third-worst team in terms of goals allowed, the Senators have given up at least three regulation goals in four of their last six games. Last Saturday, Soshnikov registered a goal and six shots in a 3-2 loss to Ottawa.

D Mark Barberio, Canadiens (vs. Wild)
P.K. Subban won't play Saturday after suffering an apparently non-serious neck injury Thursday. Barberio registered two assists in that contest, and has three helpers in as many games. He should see time alongside Andrei Markov on the team's top power play unit with Subban sidelined, though none of his eight points in 27 games this season have come with the man advantage.
Though he's barely above the minimum price on most DFS sites, Barberio is a risk to return value if he doesn't find the score sheet. He blocks under one shot per game, and shoots just over once per contest, so he doesn't provide much in the way of secondary contributions.
Still, bargain defensemen with power play time are hard to find, so Barberio is worth the risk, especially with the Canadiens having scored 11 goals over their last three home games.
