If Nate Diaz doesn't get to fight Conor McGregor again, maybe he can take him under his wing instead.
A rematch between the two fighters has been a hot topic ever since Diaz submitted McGregor at UFC 196, but it doesn't sound like Diaz has any hard feelings over the trash talk leading up to the fight.
Appearing on FOX's "UFC Tonight" program, Diaz answered a fan question asking if he would ever teach McGregor the ways of the "American Ninja."
"Hey, he should have joined a long time ago," said Diaz.
Diaz also addressed the Internet memes floating around featuring McGregor Photoshopped into a children's martial arts class, a reference to the featherweight champion making light of Diaz's gig as a jiu-jitsu teacher.
"Oh yeah, they're going off," said Diaz. "He shouldn't have said that."
Ever loyal, Diaz also made sure to give a shout-out to reporter Ariel Helwani who announced on Wednesday that he would no longer be working with FOX Sports:
