Monday's Small Forward Value Rankings
Here are theScore's small forward value rankings for Monday, March 28:
Value Rankings
PG | SG | SF | PF | C
Top Options
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Carmelo Anthony (NY) | at NO | 9 |
Kevin Durant (OKC) | at TOR | 9 |
Andrew Wiggins (MIN) | vs. PHX | 8 |
P.J. Tucker (PHX) | at MIN | 8 |
Luke Babbitt (NO) | vs. NY | 8 |
Anthony and Durant are the priciest options but, at a thin position, are the best available. Even on a 10-game slate, small forward is starving for solid production. If you play on a site that designates Wiggins as a SF, he's worth a bit more than at SG because of weaker competition. Babbitt seems to have won the coin flip in New Orleans. With all the injuries, he's worth the flier.
Best of the Rest
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Gordon Hayward (UTA) | vs. LAL | 7 |
Mirza Teletovic (PHX) | at MIN | 7 |
Kent Bazemore (ATL) | at CHI | 7 |
Evan Turner (BOS) | at LAC | 7 |
Maurice Harkless (POR) | vs. SAC | 7 |
Hayward seems to be over his foot ailment. He's a better real-life player than DFS one, but if he comes close to his ceiling it will be more than enough to return value. Otherwise, the best course of action is to scrimp and save at the position to take players of low cost with a decent chance at returning value. Harkless might be the best bet.
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Rudy Gay (SAC) | at POR | 6 |
Luol Deng (MIA) | vs. BKN | 6 |
Matt Barnes (MEM) | vs. SA | 6 |
Joe Johnson (MIA) | vs. BKN | 6 |
Kawhi Leonard (SA) | at MEM | 6 |
Gay is underwhelming. His ceiling is still fairly high, but he rarely reaches it. DFS owners can spend less and get close to the same result. Johnson should be better than he has been. His salary has dropped enough that he would be an excellent choice in GPP play if he goes off. High risk equals high reward.
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Tony Allen (MEM) | vs. SA | 5 |
Omri Casspi (SAC) | at POR | 5 |
Nikola Mirotic (CHI) | vs. ATL | 5 |
Jeff Green (LAC) | vs. BOS | 5 |
Jordan Hamilton (NO) | vs. NY | 5 |
Hamilton could see more minutes - a common chorus in New Orleans - but is only realistically worth a selection as a deep GPP cut. Green's production is up and down. Don't expect the moon, but he could get halfway there.
Nothing to See Here
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Al-Farouq Aminu (POR) | vs. SAC | 4 |
Justise Winslow (MIA) | vs. BKN | 4 |
Derrick Williams (NY) | at NO | 4 |
Lance Stephenson (MEM) | vs. SA | 4 |
Doug McDermott (CHI) | vs. ATL | 2 |
Aminu is more of a defensive specialist with little DFS upside. Winslow will have decent games, and at his salary he doesn't need to do much to return value. His floor is a big, fat zero, though. Stephenson should be used more regularly, but his play is all over the place. DFS owners can't roster him in cash games.
