Monday's Center Value Rankings
Here are theScore's center value rankings for Monday, March 28:
Value Rankings
PG | SG | SF | PF | C
Top Options
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Hassan Whiteside (MIA) | vs. BKN | 9 |
DeAndre Jordan (LAC) | vs. BOS | 9 |
Willie Cauley-Stein (SAC) | at POR | 8 |
Rudy Gobert (UTA) | vs. LAL | 8 |
Al Horford (ATL) | at CHI | 8 |
The top duo of Whiteside and Jordan carry explosive upside into Monday's matchups. It's important to spend up at center. There are so many solid options. It's easier to find cheap value at other positions. Gobert and Horford slot in just below. Gobert is less consistent on the production end of things, but the Lakers represent an appealing matchup for his play.
When Cauley-Stein gets minutes, he produces. He scored 26 points with six rebounds, two blocks and three (!) steals against Phoenix on Friday. Two games earlier, he only played five minutes and the results were what you might expect - not good. But with Cousins likely sitting, those minutes should be there.
Best of the Rest
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Karl-Anthony Towns (MIN) | vs. PHX | 7 |
Robin Lopez (NY) | at NO | 7 |
Jonas Valanciunas (TOR) | vs. OKC | 7 |
Enes Kanter (OKC) | at TOR | 7 |
Salah Mejri (DAL) | at DEN | 7 |
With Tyson Chandler likely out of the lineup, Towns could be in for a big game. He hasn't performed particularly well against Phoenix this season, though. Valanciunas is back and the rest has done him well. He should be good for a double-double, or close to it. He added five blocks in his last game.
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Pau Gasol (CHI) | vs. ATL | 6 |
Nikola Jokic (DEN) | vs. DAL | 6 |
Brook Lopez (BKN) | at MIA | 6 |
Jared Sullinger (BOS) | at LAC | 6 |
Mason Plumlee (POR) | vs. SAC | 6 |
Gasol would be lower if it weren't for his upside. His minutes have been scaled back, but he can still do more with less on some occasions. There are better choices available. Lopez is probably the most explosive of this tier, but the Heat could contain his production on Monday night. With Cousins out, Plumlee could see a clearer path to relevance.
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Omer Asik (NO) | vs. NY | 5 |
Alex Len (PHX) | at MIN | 5 |
Jusuf Nurkic (DEN) | vs. DAL | 5 |
Steven Adams (OKC) | at TOR | 5 |
Adams is steadily decent but only a salary relief option if DFS owners are desperate.
Nothing to See Here
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Bismack Biyombo (TOR) | vs. OKC | 4 |
Boban Marjanovic (SA) | at MEM | 3 |
Kelly Olynyk (BOS) | at LAC | 3 |
Tim Duncan (SA) | at MEM | 3 |
Alexis Ajinca (NO) | vs. NY | 2 |
Tyson Chandler (PHX) | at MIN | 2 |
Biyombo's value is in the sewer with Valanciunas going back up to his normal playing time and overall usage. Only start Biyombo if Valanciunas is announced as getting the night off.
Speaking of nights off, Duncan could very easily rest or play limited minutes. If he does, Marjanovic's value will skyrocket. If not, neither is the best choice.
