Counterattack: Don't Sleep on van Riemsdyk in Sunday's Early Game
Here are the top contrarian plays for Sunday's five-game slate.
D Trevor van Riemsdyk, Blackhawks (vs. Bruins)
With Duncan Keith suspended, Brent Seabrook will likely see a rise in DFS investment, especially considering his 14 goals and 44 points on the season. A lower-priced alternative is van Riemsdyk, who saw the second-most power play time among Chicago defensemen in the team's most recent game.
With just 12 points in 78 games, he's not known for his offense, but did record two assists in a late March win over the Canucks and sees a consistent workload of around 20 minutes per game. Should he not manage to find the score sheet with the added power play time, van Riemsdyk is also a reliable shot blocker, averaging just under two per game, which provides a solid floor to his lower mid-level price.

LW Nikolaj Ehlers, Jets (vs. Wild)
After combining for 18 points in January and February, Ehlers' promising rookie season was derailed by an eye injury that kept him on the shelf for most of March. He's been back in the lineup for five games now, mostly playing alongside the high-scoring duo of Blake Wheeler (72 points) and Mark Scheifele (55 points).
With Wheeler and Scheifele on seven- and six-game point streaks, respectively, Ehlers stands a decent chance of getting on the score sheet as well. The young Danish forward has a respectable one goal, one assist and eight shots in his last four games.

G Jake Allen, Blues (at Avalanche)
St. Louis' remarkable run of defensive resilience (just one goal allowed over a five-game stretch) came to an emphatic end with a 6-5 loss to Boston on Friday, but that shouldn't be a reason to shy away from Allen on Sunday. Allen technically was credited with the loss Friday, allowing one goal in relief of starter Brian Elliott, but had shut out the Capitals in his previous appearance in that stretch.
The Blues have scored at least four goals in seven of their last 10 games, offering Allen the offensive support needed to record a win if he can hold the fort in goal. Colorado has lost four of its last five games, including one to the Blues, while allowing its opponents at least 35 shots on four occasions.
