6 Fantasy Baseball Players You Already Regret Drafting
Few of us believe we have the perfect Opening Day roster, even if we love our draft. And the truth is, no April fantasy team is without its flaws - though in some cases, those roster holes are large and not easy to fix, even with the entire season ahead of us.
Be it a March injury, a bad spring or a general lack of hitting ability, here's a look at six players that already have fantasy owners wishing they had gone in a different direction:

OF A.J. Pollock, Diamondbacks (ADP: 21)
Winding up at the top of this list certainly wasn't Pollock's fault or desire; in a spring that saw a few notable fantasy players wind up on the disabled list, he was the biggest of them all. And this is no minor injury - Pollock's fractured elbow could cost him most or all of the 2016 season.
While drafting him wasn't a mistake - unless, of course, you reached for him in the first round of a standard mixed league - his absence leaves his owners scrambling for a replacement. And in truth, no one player can make up for the 15-20 homers, 30-35 steals and .300+ BA he was set to provide.
You should have drafted: C Buster Posey, Giants; SP Chris Sale, White Sox; SP Madison Bumgarner, Giants; 1B Edwin Encarnacion, Blue Jays

RP Ken Giles, Astros (ADP: 105)
From the moment he was traded from Philadelphia to Houston, fantasy owners pegged him as the no-doubt closer for an Astros bullpen that needed an upgrade. And everything progressed that way - until Giles punted away the opportunity with a terrible spring.
While there's still a chance Giles wrests the ninth-inning role away from incumbent Luke Gregerson, that won't be an easy task. Gregerson showed promise as Houston's closer last season, and was far better than Giles in March. For now, Giles is a setup man who was drafted like an elite stopper.
You should have drafted: SP Masahiro Tanaka, Yankees; RP Cody Allen, Indians; C Brian McCann, Yankees; SP Jordan Zimmermann, Tigers

OF Billy Hamilton, Reds (ADP: 108)
It's not as if one of Hamilton's legs fell off; the kid is still one of the fastest players in professional baseball and will steal his share of bases. But there's little doubt he was being drafted as someone who was expected to hit at the top of the lineup - and all those extra at-bats had owners salivating.
It turns out, Hamilton will open the year hitting at the bottom of the order, just as he did for a large part of the 2015 season. And if the ignominy of being beaten out of the No. 1 hole by SS Zack Cozart and his .284 OBP isn't enough to make Hamilton improve at the plate, then nothing will.
You should have drafted: SS Ian Desmond, Rangers; 3B Evan Longoria, Rays; C Salvador Perez, Royals; SP Justin Verlander, Tigers

3B Pablo Sandoval and OF Rusney Castillo, Red Sox (ADPs: 305, 359)
Owners in deeper mixed or AL-only leagues couldn't have expected both players to open the season on the bench - if only because they make so much money. Sandoval's ouster was particularly shocking, since he finds himself in just the second year of a five-year, $95-million contract.
While Castillo's path to regular playing time is blocked by versatile-but-light-hitting Brock Holt, Sandoval may find the sledding a bit tougher. Replacement Travis Shaw can swing the bat, and has improved his third base defense to the point where he could easily remain the starter for the entire season.
You should have drafted: SS Didi Gregorius, Yankees; 3B Chase Headley, Yankees; OF Avisail Garcia, White Sox; OF Nick Markakis, Braves

SP Trevor Bauer, Indians (ADP: 364)
Bauer may be the most frustrating case of all, if only because he did nothing in Spring Training to warrant a demotion to the bullpen. In fact, Bauer was sensational in March (2.14 ERA, 20 strikeouts over 21 innings), causing his ADP to rise and making those who took a chance on him quite happy.
Alas, it wasn't meant to be for Bauer, who was passed over in favor of Cody Anderson and Josh Tomlin. Bauer is almost certainly the top option if one of Cleveland's five starters is victimized by injury or ineffectiveness, but that's little consolation to fantasy owners who thought they had landed a steal.
You should have drafted: SP Jeremy Hellickson, Phillies; 1B Joe Mauer, Twins; SP Matt Shoemaker, Angels; OF Aaron Hicks, Yankees
