Report: Panthers' Norman will not attend offseason workouts
Carolina Panthers cornerback Josh Norman will not be attending the team's offseason workouts, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The Panthers placed the franchise tag on Norman, that would pay him $13.9 million for the upcoming season. However, the All-Pro did not sign the tender and remains without a contract for the upcoming season.
Both parties have until July 15 to reach a long-term extension, otherwise Norman will play the 2016 season under the stipulations of the franchise tag.
Norman reportedly wants a contract that would pay him similar to Richard Sherman, Patrick Peterson, and Darrelle Revis, according to Yahoo's Charles Robinson.
The 28-year-old underwent a breakout campaign in 2015, recording 56 tackles, four interceptions, and three forced fumbles, en route to first-team All-Pro honors.
