Raiders' Mark Davis to discuss relocation with Nevada tourism committee
The future of the Oakland Raiders and their stadium remains unknown, but owner Mark Davis is keeping the door open for a move to Sin City.
Davis will attend the second meeting of the Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee to discuss a potential move to Las Vegas on Thursday. The meeting is set for 8:00 am local time, giving Davis plenty of time to get back to the Raiders war room in Oakland for the first round of the draft.
The Raiders would still need to obtain funding approval for a stadium and league approval from at least 24 of 32 NFL owners in order to make to move.
Vincent Bonsignore of the Los Angeles Daily News tweeted Saturday that this is a "Huge week coming up for Las Vegas Stadium efforts" and that the potential move is "getting realer by the day." He believes the Raiders would pursue Las Vegas before Los Angeles, provided the funding is approved, and if approval is achieved, the Raiders could get the process started in a hurry.
