Vikings' Sharrif Floyd: Contract option exercised
Floyd's fifth-year contract option will be picked up by the Vikings, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Analysis:
Floyd missed three games last season due to injury, limiting him to just 34 tackles and 2.5 sacks. However, in head coach Mike Zimmer's defense, Floyd plays a critical role at defensive tackle, and has shown enough when healthy to justify the Vikings extending his rookie contract into 2017 by exercising the option.
