The "Beast Mode" era in Seattle officially came to an end Thursday when the Seahawks placed Marshawn Lynch on the reserve/retired list.
The NFL tweeted a link to a discussion of whether Lynch is worthy of being in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, which elicited a strong response from the band Smash Mouth.

So, why does Smash Mouth hate Lynch? As Michael Katz of SB Nation points out, it probably has something to do with being San Francisco 49ers fans.
