Hall of Fame pass-rusher Bruce Smith will become the second former Buffalo Bills player to have his number retired by the team.

The Bills announced that Smith's No. 78 will be retired in a ceremony at the team's 2016 home opener.

Smith was a two-time Defensive Player of the Year and nine-time All-Pro. He made an even 200 sacks over his career, which puts him two sacks clear of Reggie White atop the NFL's all-time sacks list.

Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly's No. 12 is the Bills' other retired number. Hall of Fame running back Thurman Thomas' No. 34 is expected to be retired in the future.
