Dolphins' Gase: Manning-Tannehill meeting 'blown out of proportion'
Miami Dolphins fans had a lot more hope for their quarterback's 2016 season after Peyton Manning's visit to the team's facility earlier this spring, but head coach Adam Gase says the excitement isn't quite warranted.
Manning reportedly offered Ryan Tannehill advice on working in Gase's offence, which Manning operated to perfection with the Denver Broncos, but the coach insists the meeting "got blown out of proportion a little bit."
"Peyton was in town, he had some business down here," Gase told SiriusXM NFL Radio. "(He) swung by the office, and he goes down to eat lunch with some other guys in the building. Ryan was there eating lunch, so you know how quarterbacks are. They were just talking shop. I mean, Peyton was here a very short period of time. Making it sound like the guy has been, like, living here the last few months. It was a really short visit for him."
