Pittsburgh Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams believes the world would be a much better place without participation ribbons.
Williams shared a video on his social media accounts Wednesday explaining how he returned the participation ribbon his daughter Rhiya received at her school's field day, and told her that if she wanted a ribbon, she would have to finish first, second, or third in the next event.
"I hate this entitlement age," Williams said. "We are the reason the kids are entitled right now, because of these participation trophies that we give them."
Williams' lesson worked, because Rhyia finished first in her next race.
I took her Field Day participation ribbon & gave it back to her teacher...then in the next event she got 1st place🙈😂 pic.twitter.com/SUusZsjjYW
