Dez Bryant close to being fully cleared after foot X-ray
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant underwent X-rays on his right foot Wednesday, and it appears he could return to team activities by the end of the month, according to ESPN's Todd Archer.
"He's done a really good job in his rehab," Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said. "He's been involved in some of the walk-through situations and I think he's benefited from that. He has not practiced. Once he does some of the walk-through stuff - he's really watching practice and doing his rehab on the side. All of that has gone well. We'll see how he does with that next examination and we'll make our decision from there."
The next step for Bryant before he's considered back at full health will be to begin participating in football drills, but the X-rays indicate he's now close to a full recovery, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The two-time Pro Bowler seemed to be in good spirits Wednesday, posting an inspiring message on Instagram:
Bryant injured his foot during last summer's season opener and missed seven games. Although he returned to action, he never reached the heights he did in 2014, when he led the NFL in touchdowns.
In January, Bryant underwent corrective foot and ankle surgeries. One of the most imposing wide receivers in the NFL when healthy, the Cowboys surely hope he can return to full strength and remain the focal point of the passing game.
