Report: Cowboys, Frederick agree to record extension
The Dallas Cowboys and two-time All-Pro center Travis Frederick have agreed to terms on a contract extension that will make him the league's highest-paid center, reports Rand Getlin of NFL Network.
Frederick will sign a six-year deal worth $56.4 million, with $28.2 million in total guarantees, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Atlanta Falcons veteran Alex Mack held the distinction of being the highest-paid center prior to Frederick's extension, with the Falcons inking him during free agency to a contract averaging $9 million a year.
Frederick's deal will average $9.4 million per season.
Since being selected 31st overall in the 2013 NFL Draft, Frederick has firmly established himself among the league's best centers and as a key component of the Cowboys' dominant offensive line.
