Packers' Clay Matthews: Possible suspension if not interviewed by NFL
Matthews, Julius Peppers, James Harrison and free-agent Mike Neal will be suspended beginning Aug. 26 if they don't agree to be interviewed by the league about allegations linking the players to performance-enhancing drugs in the Al Jazeera America documentary The Dark Side, USA Today reports.
Analysis:
The NFL Players Association has said the players submitted affidavits to the league about the allegations, but the league wants to interview the players in person. The edict from the league sets up a showdown which raises the possibility that Matthews could be suspended for regular season games.
