Texans' Nick Martin: Could undergo surgery on ankle
Martin could undergo surgery for his high ankle sprain, but a final decision has yet to be made, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis:
According to the report, if he does opt for surgery, there's a chance it'd be a season-ending injury. However, his other options include boot immobilization, taking a non-weight-bearing approach or just using an ankle brace and undergoing extensive physical therapy. Martin will have to make a decision in the coming few weeks, which should determine his availability for the upcoming season. Greg Mancz or Tony Bergstrom continue to be the likely candidates to start in his place.
