Kaepernick meets with ex-Green Beret Boyer to discuss social change
After endorsing Colin Kaepernick's right to sit down during the national anthem, ex-Green Beret and former Seattle Seahawks long snapper Nate Boyer met with the embattled quarterback Thursday.
Boyer told NFL Network on Wednesday that he would sit down and listen to Kaepernick's stance, and followed up with a visit.
"Being able to move forward and understanding what his message is but also understanding what that flag means is important," Boyer told Jay Glazer of FOX Sports after his meeting with Kaepernick. "We talked about change a lot and how to get positive change to happen. We talked about issues that are taking place in this country and how to prompt change but I also reminded him the great freedoms and luxuries we have in America."

Boyer penned an open letter to Kaepernick on Wednesday in which he said he'd be standing alongside the quarterback when he opts to stand for the national anthem once again.
