The Cleveland Browns have a solution for their punting issues.

After trading Andy Lee and a seventh-round pick to the Carolina Panthers on Monday, the Browns signed former Denver Broncos punter Britton Colquitt to a one-year deal, a source informed Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Colquitt spent the first seven years of his career in Denver. He averaged 43.6 yards on his punts for the Super Bowl champions last year.

The Browns received fellow punter Kasey Redfern in the deal with the Panthers and signed Michael Palardy a day later, but in their final game of the preseason, Redfern had a 26-yard punt that was preceded by a 14-yard effort by Palardy.

Colquitt was released by the Broncos in the team's first round of cuts after he turned down a three-year extension offer, a year after his salary was halved.
