Steelers' Markus Wheaton: Dealing with minor shoulder injury
Wheaton is day-to-day with a shoulder injury, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analysis:
Wheaton missed the second week of the preseason with an undisclosed injury, but he otherwise seemed to enjoy good health throughout the offseason program and training camp. With no indication the current issue is serious, Wheaton should be avilable for Monday's regular-season opener against Washington, presumably serving as the No. 2 wide receiver. Slot man Eli Rogers is seemingly ahead of Sammie Coates for the No. 3 role, which means Wheaton will likely play the vast majority of his snaps outside in Week 1.
