The New Orleans Saints released cornerback Cortland Finnegan, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Finnegan signed with the Saints in August, after spending the latter half of the 2015 season with the Carolina Panthers. The 32-year-old recorded 18 tackles in five games, and helped the Panthers reach the Super Bowl.
The one-time All-Pro was expected to add veteran depth to the Saints' secondary.
