The New Orleans Saints have found a new starting kicker, signing rookie Wil Lutz and releasing Kai Forbath, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Lutz, an undrafted rookie out of Georgia State, spent training camp with the Baltimore Ravens. He worked out for the Saints recently and was reportedly expected to head to the practice squad, before getting the surprising promotion to starter.
Forbath had spent the summer battling fellow veteran place-kicker Connor Barth for starting duties, but only kept the job for a few days before his release. The 29-year-old played 10 games for the Saints last season.
