Redskins' Doctson questionable, Steelers' Wheaton out for Monday night opener
Washington Redskins rookie receiver Josh Doctson has officially been listed as questionable for his team's season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers with an Achilles injury. Steelers receiver Markus Wheaton has been ruled out for the game with a shoulder issue.
The Redskins also listed defensive end Kendall Reyes (groin), nose tackle Kedric Golston (back), guard Spencer Long (ankle), and running back Matt Jones (shoulder) as questionable. However, Jones told reporters on Friday that he fully expects to be in action.
Steelers' Wheaton has missed the majority of camp dealing with the injury, appearing in just one preseason contest. The third-year receiver was expected to be the team's number two receiver, a role that will now likely be split between Sammie Coates and Eli Rogers.
Steelers cornerback Senquez Golson (foot), running back Roosevelt Nix (back), and center Cody Wallace (knee) have also been ruled out.
