NFL Shop lifts ban on customized Harambe jerseys
Harambe supporters, rejoice: NFL Shop is once again allowing fans to customize their jerseys with the late Cincinnati Zoo gorilla's name on the back.
Fanatics spokesman Meier Raivich told ESPN's Darren Rovell that one of the company's employees added "Harambe" to a list that instantly rejects certain words when fans try to place them on the nameplate on the back of a jersey.
An MLB team had contacted Fanatics over concerns about fans customizing "Harambe" jerseys, and the word was subsequently added to the banned list for other sports leagues, including the NFL. After word began to spread on social media, Fanatics decided to remove "Harambe" from the list.
