Inman recorded one catch for three yards in the loss to the Raiders on Sunday.
Analysis:
One week after recording a career-high 120 receiving yards, Inman saw teammates Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin explode for over 100 receiving yards each while he managed just three targets. Listed as a starting receiver in a dynamic passing offense, Inman's up-and-down performance this season is certainly odd, but not exactly unexpected, as the 27-year-old is firmly behind Travis Benjamin, Tyrell Williams, Hunter Henry and Antonio Gates in the receiving pecking order. While his volatility is maddening, Inman has seen the highest percentage of snaps of any wide receiver on the Chargers according to Pro Football Reference, and as such, should be in line for more targets most weeks. Whether he can capitalize on those opportunities remains to be seen, and is likely reason enough for owners to keep Inman on the bench for now.
