Ravens' Joe Flacco: Nearly leads team to short-handed victory
Flacco completed 26 of 48 passes for 307 yards in Sunday's 27-23 road loss to the Giants.
Analysis:
The already-struggling Baltimore offense was missing top wideout Steve Smith (knee) and two starting linemen, which made Flacco's task a tall one from the start. He actually held up better than expected, keeping his team in the game until the final seconds. It didn't translate into a huge stat line, as RB Terrance West ran for a pair of goal-line scores, while Flacco didn't have any touchdowns, turnovers or rushing yards. Despite finishing Sunday as the NFL season leader in pass attempts (264), Flacco has only thrown for five touchdowns and is on pace for a modest total of 4,237 passing yards, which would actually represent his career-high mark. He should stay busy in Week 7, facing a Jets defense that typically dictates a pass-heavy approach from opponents.
