Chiefs trade running back Knile Davis to Packers

The Kansas City Chiefs have traded running back Knile Davis to the Green Bay Packers for a conditional draft pick.
Davis became superfluous for the Chiefs with the emergence of Spencer Ware and the return from injury of Jamaal Charles, not to mention Charcandrick West's place on the roster as backfield depth, and Tyreek Hill taking over Davis' role as return man.
The Packers, on the other hand, sorely need running back depth. Starter Eddie Lacy is playing through an ankle injury and backup James Starks recently underwent a minor surgical procedure on his knee.
The Packers play the Chicago Bears on Thursday. It's unclear if Davis will be ready for suit up for his new team on such short notice.
