Kaepernick swaps out Afro for braids
After seven weeks, Colin Kaepernick's Afro is no more.
The San Francisco 49ers quarterback swapped out the dynamic hairstyle for braids ahead of Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints.

Kaepernick has made several statements this season, beginning with his ongoing protest of racial injustice that has led him to kneel during the national anthem before games. He had suggested earlier in the season that he would keep the Afro, but perhaps his poor play the last two weeks or the 49ers' 1-6 record led him to make a change.
Kaepernick has thrown for 330 combined yards in his two weeks as starter, with two touchdown passes and an interception. He has run the ball for 150 total yards but has also fumbled three times.
