Report: Fitzpatrick believes he'll start vs. Rams despite MCL sprain

New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick believes he'll be healthy enough to suit up against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, despite spraining his MCL last weekend, a league source told ESPN's Ed Werder.
Fitzpatrick was able to return following his injury against the Miami Dolphins, leading the Jets on a field goal drive after a brief absence.
Head coach Todd Bowles said Bryce Petty will start if Fitzpatrick is sidelined. Petty played in relief against Miami - the first snaps of his NFL career.
At 3-6, the Jets are likely another loss or two away from switching focus to the offseason, and to seeing what Petty has to offer for the future.
