Jeffery will be eligible to return to the Bears' active roster in Week 15.
Fantasy Fallout: Alshon Jeffery's fantasy value depends on your playoff chances
The fifth-year standout has seen a drop in production this season, catching 40 passes for 630 yards and one touchdown in nine games.
After a 10-touchdown season in 2014, Jeffery has struggled to fill the role of a No. 1 receiver left by the absence of Brandon Marshall.
After drafting Kevin White with the seventh overall pick in the 2015 draft, the Bears decided not to sign Jeffery to a long-term extension, instead allowing him to play on a one-year franchise tender.
